Do you think the little stinker would turn round so I could photograph his face? Nope!

Photo was taken through (grubby!)double glazing windows...

Dec 26 - Boxing Day

You'd think they were suffering from the "day after Christmas" Syndrome.... LOL!!

Dec 25 - Merry Christmas!!

Festive table - just waiting for the people and the food:

And yes, our snow is still here, so in my book that counts as a white Christmas! :)
It is a rare occurence to have snow on Christmas Day down here!

Dec 24

Christmas Eve.... ready for Christmas with presents under the tree! Though we have already opened our presents on Tuesday night, because Elko will not be home for Christmas so we did our present exchange early.

Dec 23

Going to try to get to the office, after checking out the main road.... as outside our front door there is still 6 inches of snow!

22 Dec - my snow and ice world

The colours are just beautiful:

Our road:

Electricity wires are covered in snow that has frozen into ice - my washing line looks the same too:

I love the way the world looks with the sun on the snow:

Dec 21 - It took 5 hrs and 15 mins to get home tonight!!

That was just slightly ridiculous for a 4.5 mile journey....
We got caught by a snowstorm that spread about 3 inches of snow in the afternoon between 3-6pm.. and it caused complete road chaos!!

Andy and Elko's journey from Wellington College back home - some 14 miles.. has now taken 7.5 hrs and they are still not home yet... it is now midnight here!!

Here are some of my colleagues frolicking in the snow before we all went home:

Taken on the way home - the roads were snowy and in many places just straight frozen:

And this shows what fell in the afternoon/evening:

Dec 18 - Lots of snow!

OK.. lots is a relative thing, but for us here in the Thames Valley area, this is lots! We woke up to 2 inches of snow :)

This is the back garden at about 8am:

Dec 5 - Sinterklaas!

OK.. so I did not take this photo, but thanks to my friend Eveline we had some Sinterklaas spirit here.
So today just had to be a photo of Sinterklaas en Zwarte Piet :)
Learn more about him and his helpers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas

Credit of the photo goes to www.nijmegen1.nl where I found the photo.

Dec 4

Please excuse the bad photograph: it was taken with my mobile which did not cope well with a moving subject in a dark party room!
It was a fundraiser for the rugby U16s team for their upcoming tour, and we had a ladies night with a drag queen and 2 professional male strippers.

My friend Karen had come over from Cambs for the night and we had a blast - best night out for a long time!!

Here we are before we left! There are no 'after' pictures! :)

Om Nom Nom

Dec 2

Time for the advent calenders to come out:

Actually they were hung up yesterday, but the frost picture was too appropriate for the start of the meteorological winter, so that took priority!

Dec 1

The meteorological winter started today, and it came in with a bang: overnight frost!!
It dropped down to -1.6°C(29°F). It sparkled really prettily in the sunlight:

Nov 30

The inside of our sofa! They had to replace the cover of one of the units, as it was delivered with a hole in the fabric... It only took them .. ohhh... 2 months to fix this...

Nov 29

Berkshire County Match/Divisional Trials... my "little boy" is at the bottom of this pile!

The weather was mostly dry for the first half, but by half time it turned very wet indeed...

Nov 28

Some saints are whiter than others....! (Ok, it might not be a saint, I have no idea who/what it is meant to be, but... )

Nov 27

A statue in Salisbury Cathedral caught my attention..

Nov 26

Our "library" will double up as a guest room. When we get it all sorted out it will look lovely and cozy, but this will have to do as a start!

Nov 25

Can you tell it's getting colder?
