May 23 - our 3rd Wedding Anniversary - spent in the Scilly Isles

And we went there by helicopter. This was my birthday gift to Andy as he loves anything to do with flying! We left Penzance at 08:30 in misty foggy weather, landed on St. Mary's (biggest of the 5 inhabited Scilly Isles) less than half an hour later. We walked round the island for a bit, found our way into the main town area (Old Town) and went on a boat ride to see if we could find puffins and seals. Which to our delight, we did! Arrived back on the island in time for refreshements, and by the time we ordered those, the sun came out and the day turned lovely and warm. Back to the heliport at 16:30 and by 17:45 we were back in Penzance! Lovely day, and it left us saying we would come back and spend more time so we could see more of the other islands too.
