Sept 12 New....

I love our new sofas!! The ones to the left of the fireplace are literally going from wall to wall, and that is just over three meters (10ft) and it is just under 1 meter (3ft) wide..
Wide enough to give a long-legged teenager a proper seat too :)

Sept 11 Old...

The Yorkshire Dales are just beautiful:

And this was one of my fellow road users:

They roam free around the fields on the hills, and the farmers use cattle grids on the roads to stop them straying to the next farm! I had got quite used to sharing the road with free roaming sheep... cows was a new experience for me!
And this one refused to budge over, so I moved the car to the left... and the cow moved to the left.. so I moved to the right.. and the cow just kept on heading to the car. She eventually veered slightly and walked past us with inches to spare. Once she had passed us, she stopped and looked back at us as if to say: "What are you doing??!" LOL!!

Sept 6

Hardraw Force; with a drop of 100ft it is the largest single drop waterfall in the UK and just as we got there the sun broke through the clouds, so I could capture the little rainbow at the bottom of the waterfall:

And to give an idea of the scale: yes that is me, crouched down on the right:

Sept 5

A man and his castle: Andy in front of Bolton Castle:

And his moor: East Bolton Moor:

And this is East Gill Force, a pretty little waterfall in Keld:

Sept 4

I drove up to Yorkshire to visit Andy. It had been a long 61/2 weeks since he set off on his journey!

This one was taken as I drove up to Horton-in-Ribblesdale and shows Pen-y-Ghent. This is one of the "three peaks" and is 2273ft high. Somewhere along the line I have promised to walk up this mountain come next spring...!!
